Semifinalists participate in a timed challenge, which includes digital photographs taken and edited onsite. Semifinalists demonstrate their knowledge of digital photography in a presentation/interview."

For the Connecticut State Conference, this competition entails preparing a photographic portfolio according to the year's theme and the event regulations, and submitting it and having it judged on-site. There is no semifinal round. Only individuals (1) may participate in this event.
