All TSA Advisors, students, parents, and friends,

As you are aware, the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is rapidly affecting all activities, conferences, and meetings. Most schools have cancelled all field trips and events until further notice due to the instructions of the governor, superintendents of schools,  and the health department.

As you may realize, we must cancel the CT-TSA State Conference on April 4th.

We understand we all need to be proactive and think of safety first; especially for our students and staff.  Our CT-TSA State Officer team is discussing other possibilities, and we hope that this public health reality will not last long.  Meanwhile, we trust that you honor your students' work and showcase their projects in your school at this time.

There are several items that I wish you to respond to me by email:

1. Do you have a state officer applicant? Attached is a copy of the 2020-2021 CT-TSA State Officer Application. The deadline for this application has been extended to April 1, 2020, and should be sent to me ( Included with the application should be a 1-2 minute video where the applicant states why they wish to be a CT-TSA State Officer.  Please note that applicants should have a minimum of 1 year of active service in their chapter, along with leadership workshop experience.  Leadership, dedication, and perseverance are all very important qualities for becoming an officer.  FYI: It is a demanding commitment.

2. Do you have plans on attending the National TSA Conference on June 27 - July 1, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee?  At this point, the national conference is expected to go on, though we will send updates from National TSA as they send them.

3. If you are attending the National TSA Conference, do you have any students whose competitive events are State Advisor Approval? As you know, I need to submit those events/students/teams to National TSA. We will set up an evaluation of these projects as soon as possible so that the state advisor approval list is completed fairly and accurately. TBA.

4. If you have any suggestions regarding alternate arrangements for student work judging, etc. please feel free to share them with us.

Finally, I wish to thank each of you for your dedication to your students and to TSA. Please convey to your students that we value their passion and determination in working on projects and want to honor them.

Again, thank you.
